The process to perform the leak test on the new water tower will begin very early Monday morning, June 29th. 

City crew will monitor pumping rates and water pressures throughout this process. 

Filling the new water tank is estimated to take between 16 and 24 hours, although it could be longer.

Once the elevation in the new tank reaches overflow, the City crew will shut the appropriate valve to keep the new tank full and open the valve to the existing water tower, slowly lowering pressures in the system back to normal levels.

During this time, we are expecting water pressures in the city to increase from approximately 50-55 psi to 71-77 psi.

In the event of a fire, water main break, or significant increase in demand, the city will close and open the necessary valves to run the water system off the current tank.
